• Australians in France

These are sons of Mr. John Holstein, of Johnson’s Creek, New South Wales. Left to Right: Private Kenneth Stanley Holstein (23), Private Arthur Cecil Eugene Holstein (27), and Private Harry Clifton Holstein (22). Numerous families in all parts of Australia have sent several sons to the front. Is it fair that other families having eligible sons should be unrepresented in this great world war? Every fit and free man should be “doing his bit. “ Kenneth Stanley Holstein - 34th Australian Infantry Battalion. Arthur Cecil Eugene Holstein – 35th Australian Infantry Battalion. Harry Clifton Holstein – 35th Australian Infantry Battalion. A fourth brother, George William Leslie Holstein, not in the above photograph, enlisted on 22 March, 1917, and was taken on strength of the 12th Australian Light Horse Regiment. Sydney Mail Wednesday 28 February, 1917.
