In memory of Ted, Arthur and Frank Harvey who grew up on dairy farms around Lismore in the 1890s and 1900s. The middle brother, Frank, was the first to join up in mid 1915 while droving up in Normanton Queensland. Arthur joined up next, also while working in Queensland, and my grandfather Ted followed in mid 1916 in Lismore. Frank died in the early days of the terrible battle at Pozieres in July 1916. However, by the time Arthur and Ted arrived in France at the end of 1916, the family in Terania Street North Lismore had yet to be notified he was missing. Eventually Arthur and Ted returned home in 1919 but Frank's body was never found and he was declared Killed In Action. The war changed their lives forever.
