George Robert (always known as 'Jack') was my grandfather and Tom (his older brother) died of wounds received at Lone Pine in the August assault. Their brother-in-law Ted Westbrook was also supposed to have been there, but at this point in time, I cannot locate Uncle Ted's details. His war records file had been blocked.

Hi, perhaps the record for Edwin Clive Westbrook is your Uncle Ted? Just going on the next of kin address, which is the same person and address as George Robert Briggs has for his attestation (n.o.k. Mrs Annie Westbrook, 7 Harold St, Newtown, Sydney). WESTBROOK Edwin Cyril : Service Number - Depot : Place of Birth - Basingstoke England : Place of Enlistment - Liverpool NSW : Next of Kin - (Wife) WESTBROOK Annie I found the record of Annie Violetta Briggs marriage to Edwin/Edward Westbrook in the Oct-Dec 1901 UK BDM indexes, which lead me to look at "Edwin" Westbrook's service record. Hope this has assisted!
