Berrima District Museum Anzac Centenary Project The Museum is preparing a major Anzac Centenary Exhibition to open early 2015. The Exhibition includes the selected names of 1200 men and women, with links to the Southern Highlands, who served in the First World War. Their service files will be accessed through the Museums digital database linked to the National Archives of Australia “Discovering Anzacs” new website. The Exhibition will include objects from the Museum’s collection and on loan from other supporting institutions. Stories about people, places and objects relating to the Anzac Centenary will be told. The Exhibition will be web-based and available to a local, national and a world-wide audience. The exhibition will provide for community involvement to contribute personal memories, records, objects and photos that will help us to better understand and appreciate who these 1200 Southern Highland men and women were. The exhibition will draw on extensive digital records available from the National Archives and other digital repositories of historic information about the Southern Highlands 1200. Relevant objects acquired or loaned will complement the exhibition. The Museum will provide assistance to members of the community to record, scan and upload their memories to the National Archives “Discovering Anzacs” new web site.
