    Maysie was born c1893 in Geelong, Vic – the daughter of Anthony DEVINE and Julia MADDEN, who married in Chiltern, Vic on the 8/8/1883 Julia died on the 7/6/1929 at her home Rosebank in Newtown, Geelong, aged 60 Anthony died on the 11/6/1940 at a private hospital in Geelong (late of Barwon Heads) Siblings: *Kathleen Mary Josephine b.1884 – WW1: Nurse, AANS – d.2/11/1947 Barwon Heads; Mary b.1886 – d.25/2/1887 (8mths); Julie Alice b.1886 – d.22/8/1948; *Anthony Aloysius b.1888 – WW1: Lieut 10th FAB – d.1964, *Frederick Raymond b.1892 Geelong – WW1: Gnr 1154, 2nd DAC – d.9/4/1948 Eltham; Dorothy b.1894 (Clerk) – d.7/12/1968 Roman Catholic Trained in nursing at St Vincent’s Hospital, Fitzroy, Vic, for 3 years Member of the Royal Victorian Trained Nurses’ Association – passing her exam in 1916 WW1: Embarked on the SS Somali 30/6/1917 for India, together with her sister Kathleen, and disembarked Bombay on the 30/7/1917 Posted to Colaba War Hospital, Bombay, 30/7/1917 Resigned her appointment 15/11/1918 in order to marry Married William Lawrence O’NEILL (Dr, Capt, RAMC) on the 16th of November 1918 in the Holy Name Church, Bombay Child: Anthony Lawrence b.7/12/1920 St Anthony’s Hospital, Cheam, Surrey, England – d.1940 Still living Surrey, England 1940, 1948 William died on the 27/7/1949 at their home in Surrey, aged 57 Maysie returned to Australia on the Strathnaver with her sister Dorothy, departing London 7/8/1954 The sisters were living together in Middle Brighton in 1963, 1966 Maysie died on the 20th of July 1966 at Heidelberg, Vic, aged 72, and is buried in the New Cheltenham Cemetery The Age (Melb, Vic), Fri 22 Dec 1916 (p.10): ROYAL VICTORIAN TRAINED NURSES’ ASSOCIATION Following are the successful candidate at the half yearly examination held under the auspices of the Royal Victorian Trained Nurses’ Association: – St Vincent’s Hospital – ………………., Maysie Devine, ………………..
