In Memory of my Father John Harvey who died on 30 July 1981, he served from 23/12/14 and was discharged due to being unfit on the 22/11/1915, he served with the 11 lighthorse and joined with the 9 lighthorse, when they were deployed on Galipolli 29/08/1915. His army no. is 523 and he lied about where he was born and also the date of his birth. He was probably under age, as many were at that time. We are unsure where he was born only that he grew up around the Pt Augusta region and was connected to Wartaka and Purple Downs Station, also that he spent some years in Adelaide and may have a connection to the Fawcet and Tapley families, may even have been born there. He has 7 living children and numerous grandchildren, he did not marry until in his mid 50s, any one who has any info on him no matter how small I would appreciate being contacted, errolw [at] austarnet.com.au
