    Muckadilla, Roma, Queensland. (Red Cross - Pte George Thompson 3145 26th Bn - Orr was killed at Ypres by a Minnewiefer. I was told this by Pte Rickenberg Pte William Francis Simpson 1705 26th Bn – Killed at Ypres front line of the trenches by a Trench Motar. I was about 10 yards from him at the time he was killed right out. L/Sgt Richard Symons 4520 26th Bn – Knew casualty. Casualty was holding the front line at Ypres number 5 Post. About 8.00 pm a Minewiefer exploded killing casualty and two other instantly. I was 10 yards away at the time. He was buried at Ypres near the ramparts. Pte Tom Noble Griffiths 3489 26th Bn – At dusk one evening towards the middle of Oct, we were in the front line trenches, a big German Bomb, a Minewiefer burst at the mouth of the mine shaft and was wounded severley. He was conscious for about 5 minutes and died. Close by. Three killed and one wounded. Orr was in A Coy 4th Plt. (Possibly died with Pte Cooper -26th Bn.) Pte Frank William Rickenberg 160 26th Bn – Letter – Germans started shell trenches at Ypres at about 7.00pm when Orr got hit. My Brother, Pte Harry Edward Rickenberg 155 26th Bn (D.O.D. 19/07/17) went to the spot and called for him but he had died. He had been badly hit in the back especially. Buried about 1.5 miles behind the Ypres Catherdral. Other were killed with him) (N.A.A. – 27/05/16 W.I.A. – G.S.W. face and head leg, 18/10/16 K.I.A.
