    GEORGE SMILEY (b.1891 d.1933) served in WWI and married NELLIE VICTORIA DOWNER (b.1891 d.1973) after the war. They were married on 15 February 1919 at Bemerton, Wiltshire, England, sailed for Australia aboard the Ceramic, and had five children:GEORGE EDWIN JOHN (b.1920 d.?) LILLIAN JEAN VICTORIA (b.1922 d.1943) BEATRICE MARGARET JEAUNE (b.1924 d.2008) HAZEL ELIZABETH MAUDE (b.1927 d.2005) and JAMES BENSON ROBERT (b.1931 d.?) On his return from the war, George worked for Queensland Railways as a fettler. George died of an illness in 1933 and is buried at Gympie Cemetery. [Posted by his granddaughter, S. Horne nee Dean.]
