Wingham Chronicle and Manning River Observer (NSW), Friday 24 October 1919, page 4 Soldiers' Welcome Home. A very pleasant and enjoyable function, which took the form of a soldiers' welcome home, was held on Friday evening last, at the residence of Mr. Cooper, Bulga. The soldiers honored were Sgt Edwards (who wore the D.C.M. decoration), Pte. E. J. Robinson, and Pte. J. McRoberts. Many eulogistic speeches were made by leading residents of the district, in reference to the returned heroes. The artistic decorative scheme of the tables were much admired, the battalion colors of the respective soldiers being much in evidence. Dancing and other amusements were indulged in by those present, and all joined in wishing the men future prosperity and health at home, after their arduous campaign abroad.
