    The photo taken in Egypt has been identified as (L-R) Samuel John (Jack) Stewart, born Gympie S/N 1927; George Laurie (Lorry) Woodrow, born Gympie S/N 1935; Francis Robert (Frank) Grant, born Pomona, Qld S/N 1880; and Loftus Russell Cuppaidge, born Gympie S/N. 1866. Loftus’ father was a doctor in Gympie. All four enlisted in Brisbane between 25 August and 1 September 1915 and were part of the 13th reinforcements of the 5th Light Horse brigade. Jack Stewart was Killed in Action on 2 May 1918 in France. Recorded among his personal effects was an emu feather. The other 3 men made it back home to Australia.
