    Born c1888 London – daughter of (Capt) Thomas Michael (Portmaster & President of Marine Board, Qld) & Martha Price – Thomas died 1/3/1902 Qld & Martha died 28/4/1911 Siblings: Martha Alice (Adelaide); Coultas Price (NSW) Passed her ATNA examinations at Adelaide Hospital in June 1916 WW1: In July 1916 joined the AANS as a Staff Nurse at the Garrison Hospital, Victoria Barracks, Sydney Enlisted for overseas service 11/8/1916 Embarked 9/12/16 on the RMS Kaiser-I-Hind – disembarked Suez 10/1/1917 TOS 14th AGH 10/1/17 Married Capt Percy Douglas BRIGHT, 1st Aust Remount Unit, on 29/8/1917 at the Garrison Chapel, Abbassia, Egypt (witnesses: Samuel Edward Byrne Grimwood & Leila Bell) RTA from London 10/1/1919 as an entitled passenger on the Orontes – arriving NSW 2/2/1919 – with child Peter Children: 1. Peter Heywood b.20/9/1918 Cairo, Egypt – enlisted in WW2 at Adelaide 3/11/1939, and discharged 29/1/1943, a Lieut with 2/33 Bn – resident of Medindie, SA (NOK P. Bright) 2. Bright. FUNERAL NOTICES BRIGHT – The friends of the late Mrs Gertrude Mary Bright, of 73 Northcote Terrace, Medindie, are informed that her remains were privately laid to rest on Wednesday, November 24, in the North Road Cemetery.
