    Gladys was born on 1/1/1888 in Queensland to Charles WEBSTER (d30/3/1895 54yrs) a popular Mackay businessman (https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/168857816) and Julia Garcia (d30/4/1921), the daughter of Captain Garcia who had married in Queensland on 22/8/1873. Eight years (1/3/1903) after the death of Charles, Julia married Mackay based Police Magistrate, William (Willie) Richard Onslow HILL (d8/12/1923). Siblings: - Charles (Franklin) Garcia b24/7/1875, d1925 49yrs NZ, m11/5/1904 Margaret (Madge) Beatrice THOMPSON (d1940 60yrs NZ) at St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney (https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/ 139115340). Franklin left Queensland to study science at the University of Melbourne (https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/191487435). He went on to study medicine, graduating in 1900 with 2nd class honours (https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/138668204/11315408; https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/9052605). 1904 he was practising in Wellington New Zealand. Children: 1905 Jean Garcia; 1909 Daniel Garcia. Margaret remained in NZ after Franklin’s death. - Harry Athelston b2/9/1876, d2/5/1955; 1911 engaged and m11/6/1912 Sarah Bridget (Norma) MACGROARTY. Gladys trained as a nurse in Christchurch, NZ and had been working in a Military Hospital Sydney prior to sailing to Egypt and England on duty per HS Karoola on 8/12/1915 (https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/172299516). On the 1/4/1916 Gladys was posted to 11GH at Étaples, Northern France with the imperial forces (WO 372/23/43986). 1/9/1917 she resigned from service possibly because she had recently become engaged to George Harpham WILLOWS, RNFC (https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/140192678). However, the relationship did not continue as records show that George married Margaret Linley in 1921 and Gladys married John W. JACK at Paddington, London between October and December 1922. Post war Gladys worked at Southport Grammar, Qld; Lady Davidson Home, Sydney; Randwick Hospital and as a food investigation officer for the Registrar-General, Sydney (https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/17080233). 1937 she married Warwick WESTON. Warwick died in 1947 and Gladys died on 25/11/1954 aged 66, at Edensor Park, NSW (https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/75589420).
